Vision

We are a united professional association devoted to promoting pharmacists as providers of exceptional patient care within the healthcare team.

Mission

PAS is the representative body of Saskatchewan Pharmacists, advocating through collaboration to promote and protect the professional and economic interests of our members.

We achieve this by:

  • Ensuring the pharmacy profession is positioned to   respond to health care system needs and practice changes;
  • Negotiating agreements impacting pharmacy services;
  • Proactively building strategic partnerships with key stakeholders;
  • Promoting pharmacists through media and other mechanisms; and
  • Providing quality services and benefits.

Values

PAS is dedicated to fulfilling their Vision and Mission through strong leadership guided by the following values:

  • Professionalism ‐ commitment to ethical quality practice within an environment based on respect and integrity
  • Advocacy - Actively advancing the profession and influencing decisions through member and health system partner knowledge transfer and visionary thinking.

Strategic Areas

A.  Advance quality practice through continuous development and education

  Areas of Emphasis for the next 18 months:

  • Work with SCP, CPDP, to understand areas of development
  • Link education to economic models
  • Needs assessment
  • Link to the knowledge piece
  • Ensure pharmacists have access to appropriate tools and education opportunities to allow them to practice to their full potential (Partnering and clarity of roles)
  • Accessible, appropriate, responsive
  • Diabetes, cardiology, Home Health care etc.

 

B. Enhance value added member services

Areas of Emphasis for the next 18 months:

  • Align with strategic partners e.g. Drug Plan, MoH
  • Achieve negotiating contract
  • Practical, sustainable compensation models
  • ARF
  • Membership buy-in
  • Support for members
  • Focus on improved member services to increase member satisfaction
  • PAS control of billing numbers/Conduct environmental scan of other organizations (professional bodies)
  • 

C. Raise the visibility and awareness of the profession

Areas of Emphasis for the next 18 months:

  • Improve website
  • PAS IT on Bulletin
  • Public Relations strategy
  • Connecting with students e.g. through SPNSS, face book
  • Public awareness campaign with established measurement tool


D.  Improve collaboration to better service the interests of the  membership.

Areas of Emphasis for the next 18 months:

  • Solidify relationships with other key stakeholder organizations
  • Clarify and differentiate complimentary roles and determine areas of collaboration
  • Harness available resources, prevent duplication of services


E.  Strengthen PAS Governance
