The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition invites applications
for the Coordinator of the Structured Practice Experiences Program (SPEP) in the BSP Degree
This is a fulltime position for the period June 15, 2011 to June 15, 2012, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent. The position is in the Specialist/Professional Family of the University's Administrative and Supervisory Personnel Association, with compensation and excellent benefits, as determined by ASPA agreement.
Building on solid structures and processes that are already in place, the SPEP Coordinator will organize quality service learning and practice experiences in community, hospital and related settings, for students in the BSP program. These experiences will enable our graduates to develop the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required by NAPRA and the AFPC. Reporting to the Head of the Division of Pharmacy, the Coordinator will work with a high level of independence, decision-making and accountability, building strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, Clinical Instructors and Pharmacist-Preceptors.

Applicants are required to hold a first professional degree in Pharmacy and be licensed as a pharmacist in Canada, with additional education in pharmacy and/or adult education an asset; minimum of three years of experience in pharmacy practice; thorough familiarity with NAPRA entry-to-practice competencies and AFPC educational outcomes; capability supervising and evaluating students is desirable. Skill requirements include understanding of contemporary pharmacy practice and education; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective time management and organizational skills; initiative and creativity; and strong computer literacy with relevant software applications.
