Pharmacists: Part of the Health Care Team

Pharmacists work closely with many other health care providers to maximize patients' health care experience.  In health care facilities, pharmacist go on "rounds" to assess individual patients with other health care professionals like doctors, nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, surgeons and others.  The team works together to provide patients with the best health care possible.  Pharmacists also work together in health teams throughout the day in many other health facilities by providing their medication expertise.  In community pharmacies, pharmacists interact daily with health care professionals on the patient's behalf.  Pharmacists ensure the safe and effective usage of medications, optimal disease care management, health promotion and provide many other patient care services in collaboration with other health care professionals.
