Antimicrobial Stewardship in Primary Care Continuing Education Program

The  University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy program is a series of multimedia modules, directed at community-based practitioners, provides current information about the consequences of use of antimicrobial agents, general principles for antimicrobial stewardship in primary care, as well as strategies to optimize antimicrobial use in a variety of common clinical scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

This online, self-paced course aims to:

  • Familiarize prescribers, pharmacists, and others with the principles of antimicrobial stewardship and demonstrate the need for improved antimicrobial use in primary care;
  • Provide primary care practitioners with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents; and
  • Familiarize primary care practitioners with additional resources available to support this area of practice.

Online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Free Online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy courses for Saskatchewan residents with depression, anxiety, and pain.The Online Therapy Unit is led by Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos from the University of Regina and makes use of online therapy programs that were initially developed in Australia.The Online Therapy Unit allows trained therapists to provide the internet delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to residents of Saskatchewan who have difficulties with depression, generalized anxiety, and/or panic.The Unit also provides education and training to diverse registered health professionals and students on how to deliver services online and conduct research on how to best deliver online-CBT.
